How long have you been doing what you do and how did you get to be a QuickBooks Consultant?
I started working as a bookkeeper more than 20 years ago. I was introduced to QuickBooks in 1996 and since then, every job I took since then used QuickBooks too. Many accounting professionals helped me a long the way, so I thought I would start doing the same for others who wanted to learn how to use it. I used it so much that I became really good at it, so getting certified just made sense.
Who are your clients exactly?
My clients are small business owners, specifically service-based businesses like contractors, consultants, caterers and even photographers. They typically have families, so work-life balance is very important to them, as it is to me.
How are you different from other "QuickBooks Consultants"?
I take a very simple, personalized, hands-on approach with my clients. Every business is different and so are their needs. I work with each client to help them to learn what they need to know in QuickBooks to help their business to thrive.
What type of personality do you work best with and what is expected of me?
I enjoy working with people who are relaxed and calm, and who don't take life too seriously. I appreciate when clients respect my time and the boundaries that I set which help me to maintain my work-life balance. I expect my clients to commit to learning QuickBooks, follow through on their assigned tasks and to speak up when they need clarification. I always want to be sure that my clients are clear on the guidance I give them.
How will we work together?
All sessions and communication will be done remotely. Using Zoom and other remote access tools, I am able to support you without either of us leaving our desks. I was training clients remotely long before COVID-19 was even a thing, so I've pretty much got it down.
